What Makes our Cakes so Special?
Because we love what we do and that translates into a beautiful creation! We are truly passionate about providing you with a cake which is both mouth watering and stunning. We have a strong focus on flawless finishes and impeccable attention to detail. These skills have been developed over many years of experience and through extensive training with international leaders in cake design and sugar flower artistry.
Anatomy of a Cake
Not all cakes are created equal! Be sure you ask your decorator about the quality of their ingredients, precision of their finishes and the anatomy of their cakes. To produce a mouth-watering cake with sharp and stylish finishes is an art in itself. Here’s a guide to your cake from the inside out:
- Each tier is torted into three layers before being filled with Belgian chocolate ganache or Italian meringue buttercream
- A layer of the finest quality Belgian chocolate ganache then encapsulates the cake
- The cake is finished with a super-thin (3mm) layer of fondant before the artwork begins
Our cakes are produced with each tier measuring approximately 10 cm in height as standard.
The size of your cake will be determined by the number of guests you wish to serve and how you will be serving your cake. The standard portion sizes are coffee (approx 2.5 x 2.5 x 10cm) or dessert (approx 5 x 2.5 x 10cm). The chart below can be used as a guide for what size cake you will need.
Choosing a Design
When embarking on the journey of choosing your perfect cake design, there are a number of options.
Take a look through our collection as a first step. If you’re struggling for inspiration, we also offer a very useful resource through our pinterest page - an online pinboard of all things cake. You may find your perfect cake ~ or, you may like different elements from a number of cakes ~ or, you may like us to design a cake exclusively for you. The good news is, we can work with any of these options.
When designing your cake, it helps if you can provide us with elements such as your invitations, theming, colour scheme, gown design or anything else you’d like to see incorporated. Your cake should be a reflection of your unique style and complement your celebration perfectly.
When to Book
Bookings are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Dates can be reserved upon acceptance of a quote and a 25% deposit. This is non-refundable as it ensures that no conflicting bookings are taken.
Alternatively, you can reserve your date with a $150 non-refundable holding deposit and decide on your design at a later stage.
